Evansville Trip (more of week 12)

This past weekend we ventured down to Newburgh/Evansville so everyone could see the little guy. He has changed so much since the last time we visited (6 weeks ago)-he is talking and smiling a lot more and has definitely gotten stronger.

Dave and Gamma having a chat.

Dave and Granddad (he loves his chime frog)

Great-grandpa and Uncle Tony dressing him. Definitely a two-man job. Dave is clearly laughing at their ridiculousness.

  • Also, a big first happened-Dave laughed! And we caught it on video-he only laughs in the first fifteen seconds, the rest we're just trying to capture it again.

After we got home Sunday night, Dave started to talk like crazy.

  • This week Dave turns 3 months old-this growing up business is killing me. And tomorrow marks three weeks until our Florida vacation. I can't wait to get out of this nasty winter!

12 weeks

Well, we don't have a lot to update this week-it's our really long stretch in the work cycle. So we've been working a lot the last week.

Thankfully we have this weekend off-Evansville here we come! I can't wait for everybody to see how big Dave has gotten since we were down there last time.

Of course, I managed to snap a couple of pictures (only 5 all week, we really have been busy!)

He wasn't quite ready for this one.

Much better!

There's nothing like that smile after a long day of work!

  • And, here are some videos.

11 weeks-A typical photo session

If you have never tried to get that "perfect" picture from a baby, this post will probably not appeal to you. Well, besides the fact that it has pictures of an adorable baby in it.

Anyway, here is a glimpse into my daily struggle of getting Dave to pose for the camera.

This is what I would consider an ideal picture. He's smiling, looks happy and the picture is not blurry. Success. This happens maybe one out of fifty tries.

Much more typical. This type of picture usually consists of him eating his hand, staring at something that isn't the camera, or drooling.

This happens after the photo session has gone on too long.

And he's officially pooped out.

Also this week, we taught Dave how to comb his hair.
And just today he was talking like crazy.

Hope you enjoy!

Happy Birthday Josh...10 weeks

Well, this week we celebrated Josh's birthday (27 years old!)

That was a lot of candles.

I took a video of Dave eating his hand.

Dave spent a lot of time hanging out in his bouncy chair.

He loves the orange hedgehog (right upper corner). We think that he is drawn towards oranges and yellows for some reason.

We watched the superbowl at Josh's parents (I'd rather not talk about it), where Dave was thoroughly entertaining.

I love this yertle the turtle onesie-thanks Dad and Kyra!

Grandma and Dave not paying attention to the game.

  • Finally, one more video for the week--hiccups again! (He gets them all the time)

Have a great week!

9 weeks old --Edited

We don't really have a lot to update about this week, but here a couple of interesting tidbits-

Instead of peeing on us, he has taken to pooping all over everything while we change him. This happened first with Josh's mom yesterday and again this morning. Definitely worse than peeing. In fact, I miss the peeing right now.

Dave found his hand-he stares at it constantly to the point that he goes cross-eyed. He also tries to shove his entire fist in his mouth. No matter how many times he fails, he keeps on trying.

Dave has been consistently sleeping 6 hour chunks at night. Awesome. Sometimes he goes a little longer, but not very often.

Two month shots were very uneventful. The nurses at the health department (where shots are free on Wednesdays here) did an excellent job and Dave came away with a beastly camo bandaid.

My mom came up to visit last weekend. So, Josh and I went car shopping. It was a loooooong day at a car dealership that resulted in a sad realization on my part. We are now looking at minivans. Yep, we are those people now. I really thought we could hold out longer.

On to pictures and videos.

Dave loves being up high. Of course, we go along with his every whim.

My mom brought him big people sneakers. Hilarious. And completely practical.

He gets very angry after a photo session. And he punches at me with a sneaky expression on his face.

And for your viewing pleasure....
