Ike in the Snow

This week we had a break from the cold weather, so the kids were able to actually go outside!  Dave went to play with a neighbor, but Ike stayed with me so I got some pictures of him.

So pumped to be outside.

Just mowing the snow.

He kept getting stuck-the snow was still pretty deep!

Using his digger to help me shovel snow.

View in our backyard-the snow was so pretty.

Having a snack after playing.  It's totally normal to eat hummus with a spoon, right?

So thankful the kids were able to get out for a couple of days this week.  It's amazing how much energy they can run off in just a half hour!  Ike asks me every morning, "go Florida today mom?"-I think he's ready for some sunshine and warmth!

Cabin Fever

Ugh, we are so tired of being cooped up!  Dave has been to school for a total of 1.5 hours in the past 3 weeks and it's been so cold we haven't gotten out much.  We are ready for a heat wave! :)  Trying to get some energy out by playing lots of ball, wrestling, and setting up lots of races around the house.  The boys have watched far too much TV, but I am running out of things to keep them busy...there are only so many books to read and crafts to do in a day!  I am super thankful for our attic winter-it is so great to send the kids up there to play.

Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks.

Look at this crazy face...he was roaring at me. He constantly pokes his head around the corner and roars at us.

My little boy looks all grown up!

Dave is a little obsessed with his goggles lately.  He loves to dunk his head under in the tub!

I took a video of the boys playing in the tub last night.  Ike decided to sing some random song the whole time and Dave was showing off his sweet scuba skills.  Tub video.

Before Christmas, Dave had his buddy Alec over to do a blind bag video.  They are both strangely obsessed with watching blind bag videos on youtube, so his mom and I got together to have them do their own version!  They were super cute and did a great job!  I still need to edit the video, so once I do I will post it on here. By the way, blind bags are usually tiny toys that have some kind of theme, but you don't know which exact figure/toy/etc. you will get until you open it.  It's all about the surprise.

Action shot of the opening.

The aftermath.  It was a blind bag massacre!

Dave has been playing a bunch with one of our neighbors, Kyson (who is almost 6) a lot recently and it has been so nice!  He gets tired of playing with Ike all the time and loves hanging out with someone closer to his age.  His mom and I trade hosting the two of them and they play great and keep each other entertained!  Lots of ninja and superhero playing going on.

Hanging out on Dave's top bunk.

Ike usually crashes their party.

Christmas Wrap-Up

Happy New Year!  A little behind on this post, as usual :)  The boys had so much fun on Christmas, and we did too.  Dave may have had a little too much excitement-he woke up at 2 a.m. ready to open presents!  We figured we'd have to get up early, but that was a little much.  Josh's parents came over to open presents with us, and it was so much fun to watch the boys open up their new stuff.  Ike's phrase of the day was, "one more present?".  In fact, he's still saying it now, haha.

Posing by the tree in their new jammies!

With Grandma Bertie.

Hanging out at Aunt Veronica's on Christmas Eve.

Dave was really into wrapping presents this year.  He didn't cut super straight and typically got twice as much tape as necessary, but it was fun to have his help!

With their huge stockings on Christmas morning.

Ike insisted on handing us every little piece of wrapping paper from each present.

Such a fun Christmas week!  Now all I hear from the boys is "when are we going to Florida?!"..guess that's the next thing they have to look forward to!  The end of February can't come soon enough-especially after this cold weather we've been having!
