Evansville for the Beth Moore Conference

My friend Stacey and I went on a quick trip to Evansville to see Beth Moore at the end of July.  We brought all the kids as an added bonus! :)

Of course we happened to be there in the middle of a blazing heat wave, so we spent any time we had at my dad's pool trying to keep cool.

Look at these cute boys!

Breakfast date with Gamma!  She braved taking all the kids to McDonald's!

After their breakfast, Stacey and I took the kids over to my grandpa's to play with all his cool toys.

Tough motorcycle guys.

Elli really enjoyed his tractor.

Giving all the rides.

The temperature was climbing, so we headed on over to my dad's to get back in the water.

Elli working on her jumps.

There was a lot of jumping.  Here's a video.

Ike was so exhausted from the day's activities.

Stacey and I rocking our visors!

Piled on Dad and Kyra's floor after a long day.

After dinner we took the kids back to my mom's so she could watch them while we went to the conference. (It was Friday night and Saturday morning.)  It was amazing!!  Seriously if you get the chance to see Beth you should!  A big thank you to Kyra for getting us hooked up with it!

My mom entertained the kids by watching a movie.

So cute.

Once the conference was over, we piled the kids back in the van and headed back home.  A lot of driving in a short period of time, but the kids did great and it was totally worth it!

More Summer Fun

We had a pretty busy summer with traveling and visiting family, but we managed to sneak in a couple of weeks of just hanging around our area.  Here's what we did!

Dave reading to Ike and Kyson...had to stay on top of our summer reading!  (The library gives away great prizes so the kids stay motivated!)

On and off this summer we had lots and lots of rain.  The kids and I played in a random downpour one evening.

Swimming with the Frys and Elliotts.

At another first Friday.  Dave was very impressed by his pretzel crusted tenderloin.

Ike enjoying the free museum membership on first Friday.

Josh and I at Third Eye Blind!  Great concert.

Doing flips at the pool.  Video of the flipping.

At the Honeywell pool with Alec.

Dave and I read a book over the summer to get ready for the 1st-3rd grade book club at the library.  They did such a great job with the theme of the book (Fortunately the Milk) and Dave had so much fun!  His friend Alec joined us too!

In the floaty-ball-person-carrier.

Enjoying a free lunch!  Can't turn down Pizza Hut pizza!

Setting off fireworks at Grandma Bertie's house.

Look how much they love each other!  :)

We chose one of the hottest days of the year to attend the county fair.  We had fun, and the kids were way more interested in the projects than they have been in the past.  And since that's my favorite part about the fair I was really excited!

Gotta get a picture by the super tall corn right?

Hot Springs Trip: Days 4-6

Here is the conclusion of our trip!

Got up bright and early to head to the mountain tower.  For a fee you can go up the elevator (or climb the stairs, no thank you) so the kids and I and Justin ventured up.

Beautiful views!

Dave and Justin.

Panorama of Hot Springs National Park.

Crazy pose on the dock.

Fishing with dad.

Walking along bathhouse row.

The kids thought this shower was the craziest thing.  I got to experience one of these when I had my spa day!

Dave chilling with the mob.

Ike and the mob guy.  Clearly did not remember what his name is.

Good deed of the week...they helped a lady push her broken car off the road and then we took her home.  She was so nice!

Check out Dave's great catch!

At McClard's BBQ.  It was unfortunately very mediocre!  Oh well we tried it at least!

We had beautiful sunsets.

Dave FINALLY lost his tooth on the way home.

Proof we were there.

Posing at the visitor center.

Hiking to a waterfall in Lake Catherine State Park.  Great hike, beautiful falls!

Had to post this.  It was parked by the road we drove by every morning.  So shiny.

Cupcakes!

Mom and Justin out to eat on our last day.

I would definitely recommend visiting this area of Arkansas!  Lots of stuff to do and you can knock off a national park from your list if you're into that!  Also their state parks are top notch so take advantage if you go!
