Officially Fall

Once we made it home from Folly it was full on Fall time. We didn't have much going on but here are a few highlights.

Josh and Ike went to the Grissom haunted house and loved every second.

The campus trees really put on a show this year.

We had a ladies painting night at church. Mine didn't turn out too great but I had a blast!

Josh and I went to watch a comedian (Demitri Martin) in Indy so we took the boys and dropped them at the Smith house.

And finally I put the Christmas tree up super early and here are the kids with their new ornaments. Dave got a set of Taylor Swift golf clubs and I found this sketchy website to do Ike's picture with his huge fish from Folly. Hilarious, it looked nothing like him.

Halloween and End of Gardening Season

The kids threw together some costumes this year-Ike was a dinosaur head and Dave was a meteorologist on location.

Ike went trick or treating with friends in Wabash also and went as Draco Malfoy.

I harvested the last of my garden. Lots and lots of hot peppers and a few more tomatoes.

I love campus in the fall-the trees are so beautiful.

And then it snowed, ha! Wasn't too bad but man it was early!

Halloween 2022

Halloween was pretty relaxed this year. I helped put on a party for the staff kids on campus and the boys lead groups around trick or treating.

Josh and I dressed up for the decades day this year-he was a frat guy from the 2000s and I was supposed to be 90s!

When we were in Evansville for grandpa's funeral, we got to see the cousins for a little while. It was nice to get a break from everything and hang out with them for a bit!

The boys got to try Crumbl cookies for the first time too!

Halloween and the Beginning of November

We had a low-key Halloween this year. And by that I mean I bought the kids each a bag of candy and called it done. But they did dress up

Josh made his own hot sauce from the peppers we grew this summer!

Ike's buddy Jacob came over to hang out and have dinner with us while Dave was at a friend's house.

Gamma came to visit! She came specifically to watch Ike's Veteran's Day program but stayed several days with us to hang out.

While she was here we finally ate at Grains and Grill in Fairmount. So good!

I waited until mid-November to turn on my lights. It was so hard to wait this long!

Kids got their robotics hoodies in, they were super excited!

Speaking of robotics, here are some pictures from their recent competitions. They had one in November and one in December so far.  Dave is a builder again this year and Ike is doing coding. They both have really enjoyed it and have grown a lot this year!

Halloween, Dave's Birthday, and Other Fall Happenings

This whole post is completely out of order but I couldn't fix it easily so here we are! We had a relatively eventful fall. Dave turned 11, we were quarantined twice (still haven't had Covid though, just exposed), and we celebrated a nontraditional Halloween and Thanksgiving!

Up first is Dave's birthday. He turned 11 on Thanksgiving this year which he was pretty excited about. Unfortunately Dave was exposed to Covid at school so he was home for the two weeks including his birthday/Thanksgiving. We made the most of it and I think he still had a pretty good birthday! He asked for pasta carbonara for his meal pick and then we had the traditional fixins for Thanksgiving on his actual birthday.

Posing with presents.

More presents.

Finished product of Hagrid's Hut.

Birthday boy!

Dave continues to amaze me with his intelligence and wit! He is definitely on the cusp of being a teenager...lots of sighs and eye rolls right now but we are working on it. He has been enjoying playing basketball for his school and participating on the robotics team at school as well. Extremely busy time for him and he's tired a lot but he loves it all. He's looking forward to Christmas Break though!

Augie came by to celebrate.

Taking a chilly walk around campus.

Had to grab $1 hot chocolate.

Taking advantage of the gym on campus.

Ballin.

Dave and Josh made homemade mac and cheese that was so good.

Gamma came to visit and played lots of chess with Ike!

The boys are really into it right now.

Christmas lights for 2020!

Rare warm day, went to Asherwood with Josh's parents to hike around.

Back from the end of October, my last summer flowers.

Ike destroying the flowers I cut off for the fall.

Dave riding the electric scooter to practice basketball by himself.

Harry Potter and Almanzo Wilder for Halloween.
