Mother's Day 2012

We headed down to Evansville again for the weekend.  My mom is part of a Rally for the Cure golf scramble, and this was the first time we had the right weekend off for Josh to participate.

On Friday, we arrived around dinner time and headed over to my grandpa's for some food.

Uncle Tony and Dave working on their golf skills.

Bubbles with Gamma.

He was really into the bubbles.

On Saturday, Dave and I hung out at Dad and Kyra's while Josh and everybody else played in the scramble.

Dave helped pick fresh strawberries (and sampled them of course!).

"Helping" Papa Charlie garden.

Kyra pulled out an awesome skidoo for Dave to ride around on in the pool.

He really mastered it after a few minutes.

We headed out early Sunday morning to meet up with Josh's family at his sister Brittany's house for a Mother's Day/Caleb's Dedication celebration lunch.  I didn't get any pictures of that because we got there late due to a heavy amount of traffic-made for a long car ride!

So pretty good Mother's Day.  We got to see most of our family for the weekend so that was nice.  And I got to go around to actual stores while Dad and Kyra watched Dave on Saturday.  A nice treat for someone who lives 45 minutes from real shopping.

Baby Bowyer 2 Update

I had a couple of requests to update about my current pregnancy, and since we just had our ultrasound, I figured now was a good time.

First of all, we are not finding out the sex-sorry everybody!  I'll have to start a poll here soon so you can get to guessing.  The baby measured perfect and everything looked great, hopefully smooth sailing until we get to meet him/her.  I'm feeling awesome, just like the second trimester with Dave.  No real cravings, though I do eat a lot of pickles and fruit (not together though!).

Also, I am feeling kicks pretty much everyday, usually several times a day.  And, sometimes they are strong enough for Josh to feel them.  I looked it up in my book I kept about Dave's pregnancy and I didn't feel movement until 20 weeks-Josh couldn't feel them until 21 weeks.

Here's Dave and I (and baby) at 18 weeks.

For a comparison, here's my 19 week picture with Dave.  I think I'm evening out on belly growth.  I definitely looked bigger with baby 2 than Dave for a while.

Here are some pictures from the ultrasound on Monday.   Baby was moving around like crazy the entire time.  Made the ultrasound tech's job kinda hard.  We found out that baby weighs about half a pound at this point and is around the size of a sweet potato.

One of the feet.

Profile of the baby.  My dad said it looked like it had a big belly!  Must be stealing all my food.

And finally, here baby is waving hello to everyone.  We even got a thumbs up at one point!

Soaking up Some Sun

We have had awesome weather this past week, so we've been a good portion of our time hanging out in the sunshine.  Here's an overview of what we've been up to.

This one isn't sun related, but Dave enjoyed a game of catch with Josh one morning.

One of our many trips to the park this week.  He insists on being pushed, "fast, not slow!".

On Friday, we headed to Logansport to visit with Josh's grandparents who have recently returned from Florida.  Josh and his grandpa played golf while Dave and I visited with Grandma Mary.  We hung out at the local park for about an hour, visited the baby chicks at Rural King, and then came back to their house to play with the water hose.

As usual, his clothes were wet in about a minute.

 Getting sprayed by the hose.

We took dinner over to Grandma Bertie's house, where Dave had a blast playing with the cars and chasing ants around.

 Big cheese.

Who knew you could eat pizza with sass?

I was finally able to upload a video!  Here's Dave reading a book and getting mad that I'm recording him with Gamma's camera.

Party Time!

On Saturday we went over to Josh's parents to celebrate Chad's (our brother in law) graduation from his Master's program.  We basically hung out and ate some good food until they had to leave for the ceremony, then we stayed and played with Caleb and Sophie.

Sophie looks like she's really enjoying this hug.  I took two different hug pictures-same face both times!

Look how well they share!  They are becoming very considerate little toddlers.

Caleb was posing for me.  He has learned to pull himself up on things now-can't believe he's 9 months old!

I must have taken one too many pictures.

Both Dave and Sophie love Divana's CamWow app on her phone.  They find it hysterical.  Here's cyclops Dave.

Sophie, why the long face?  I should take my act on the road.

Clean up always turns into more playtime for Dave.

I really tried to upload a video of Dave this week, but our internet is not cooperating.  Maybe next week!

Random Catch Up Post

It seems that we have been really busy lately, but I'm not really sure what we've been doing.  On our days off, Josh and I trade hanging out with Dave so the other person gets a little time on his/her own.  That means lots of trips with Dave to the store and the local library in Marion.

So here are some pictures from the last week or so that I haven't included in the blog yet.  I figured I needed to get something posted to keep my followers from rioting on me!  Also, we're going to see Josh's sisters, which includes the little ones so I'll should have lots of pictures from that for next week.

Josh and Dave watching for the big trucks on the main road by Grandma and Grandpa's.

Grandpa and Dave doing a little yard work.

Climbing under grandma and grandpa's table.

Goofing around.  Love this shirt that my dad and Kyra gave to Dave.

Dave and Grandma looking at funny pictures on her phone.  This provided lots of entertainment for Dave one night.

The other day, Dave climbed under his table and fell fast asleep for over an hour.  Guess he really needed that nap!

Uncle Tony came to visit!  Dave has been chasing him around yelling "Tony play with me!!!"  all weekend.

I'll include a few updates to this post since I haven't done that in a while.  Sleep has been going much better lately.  We work really hard to keep Dave from taking a nap because he sleeps much better at night if we do.  He knows most of the sounds that go along with the letters, and can pretty consistently count to 13.  My favorite new thing is that he remembers whole songs to sing along with us.  His favorite right now is Zacchaeus (or as he calls is, the wee little man song) and he still loves ABCs and Twinkle Twinkle.

Still no interest in potty training...maybe one day.  He shows a slight interest in the baby on the way.  For now he's hoping for a little sister, we'll see if he still thinks that in a few years!  We have made incredible progress at places where we leave Dave for a short period of time (church, my Mom's group).  At my last meeting he completely abandoned me before we even came to the room!  Our little guy is growing up.

Springtime in Evansville

It had been a couple of months since our last trip to Evansville, so we packed up and headed that way Friday afternoon. We had a great weekend-very relaxing, lots of grandma and grandpa time with Dave so Josh and I could do our own thing.

On Saturday, Josh and Dad went to a class at church about people in poverty-both of them seemed to enjoy it and got a lot of good information out of it. While they were doing that, Mom, Dave, and I went shopping for some new maternity jeans for me (Dave was really pumped!). Afterward, we headed to Dad's house so Dave could help plant his garden.

I seem to be getting lots of pictures with this face/scowl. Must be a phase.

Helping papa Charlie plant strawberries. As usual, help is a loose term. Josh and I went out shopping and when we came back, Dave was only in a diaper. Apparently, things got a little messy when Dad got the water hose out.

Dave was the only one brave enough to try out Dad and Kyra's pool. I'd say it was a steamy 50 or so degrees. Not exactly my thing, but Dave had fun.

Helping papa put the filling in peppers. I didn't get a picture of it, but Dave was licking the filling out of the peppers-cooking with babies isn't very clean.

On Sunday morning, Josh and I went to church with Dad, while Dave stayed back to cook brunch with mom and Andrew.

Here's our big helper again. Mixing pancakes maybe? Andrew must be giving him a good tip, he looks engrossed in conversation.
Being without clothes seemed to be a theme this weekend-he was in only a diaper again when we got back from church. Apparently there was an incident with his oatmeal.

My aunt and uncle, Tony, cousin Dusty, and grandpa all came over for brunch. It was great to see everybody!

Dave and papa Dave hanging out. I missed getting a picture of Aunt Kathy having a water gun fight with Dave.

More Dave and papa cuteness.

After brunch, Tony, Mom, and Josh got 9 holes of golf in while I went over to my dad's. Tony and Josh popped in after golf, and then Josh and I left Dave in papa's care while we went out to eat. We had a gift card Dad and Kyra gave us at Christmas to go to a Japanese steakhouse. Yum!

Of course, the weekend went too fast, and it was Monday and time to drive home. We had a great weekend and can't wait to get back!

More Fun at the Park

We were really busy with the cottage this week (it's Spring Break) so we made the most of our two days off on Thursday and Friday. It was reasonably nice out, so we spent a lot of time entertaining Dave outside. On Friday, we headed to Matter Park in Marion again (or as Dave calls it, the "Big Park!").

He's getting more brave about the bigger kid stuff there.

Playing on the cool teeter-totter with Dad.

Caged animal?

In our backyard, there is a random sand pit right outside the back door. Perfect for a two year old! Not sure of its purpose, but I do make sure to wash his hands really well after he's done playing :)

Of course, he plops right down in it.

I asked him to say cheese and he made his duck sticker say cheese instead.

Tonight Dave asked when he would be allowed to play softball with the boys and Josh. I told him he'd have to get bigger first. His response, "I am little now, but I'm going to grow up big like a beanstalk!". I love how he puts ideas together now.

Gamma Comes to Town

This weekend my mom came up to help us out with the Davester. We were definitely in need of a little break, so we took full advantage and went out to lunch and to see not one but two movies! (Hunger Games and 21 Jump Street) Very relaxing and we were able to sleep in for a couple of mornings. Dave's sleeping has been a little rough lately, so we were very grateful for extra sleep.

I finally cleared the porch of ladybeetles, so now Dave can play out there again. Here he is rocking his big brother tshirt. We announced to our guys, so word is getting around.

Mom and Dave colored Easter eggs for us. Here's a video.

Of course, Gamma and Dave went to the store and came back with a new toy. Dave was very proud of his new baseball set.

Love this face. Proves Dave isn't always as photogenic as he may seem from my blog posts!

On Sunday, we went to a different church to watch our friend Ben preach. Afterward, we invited Ben and another guy we work with to lunch. It was really nice to get to entertain for once!

Dave and Ben playing a high five game.

Here's another video of Dave going down our stairs.

Here's a picture to show my pregnancy progress. This was at 13 weeks, so basically the 2nd trimester. I compared it to pictures of Dave at 14 weeks, and it looks pretty much the same. I definitely feel bigger this time around and am already wearing my maternity pants!
