Adirondacks 2026 Part II

Saturday

We started off the morning by trying to go on a hike-that did not pan out, so then we were considering the gondola ride, but ultimately decided to drive up Whiteface Mountain. This was definitely the play-it was so gorgeous!

After the drive (and once our brakes stopped smoking, whew that was stressful!) we came back to the house to chill and some of the guys went golfing and some of us went into Lake Placid to walk around and shop.

After dinner the kids were treated to s'mores by grandma and grandpa.

The kids finished the night off with another movie marathon...I think they watched most of the Scream franchise while we were there. It was so nice having a separate space for them to hang out and do that!

Sunday

We had a message from Chad and a little worship courtesy of Josh before getting our day started.

Then we decided we definitely wanted to take some kind of gondola ride so we went to Mt. Van Hoevenberg where the Olympic ski jumping took place.

Almost everyone did the zip lining down (not this girl though!)

The view from the top of tower was incredible.

Stunning sunset for our last night.

And finally mission accomplished. We finished this 1000 piece puzzle in one day!!

From here we all went our separate ways-and for us it was time to go home! A big thank you to Josh's parents for putting this trip together-we all so appreciated it and it was so fun to spend time together in a beautiful place.

Adirondacks 2026

We said bye to Mom and got on the road back to the USA-stopped at the duty free for some cologne for Ike first though :)

Thursday

Barry and Divana were on their way so we met them at Tupper Lake to walk around and get some lunch. This town was so cute and lunch was great-we got burgers at a food truck.

We were still killing a little time before getting to our house so we hit the grocery store and stopped at another cute town.

Finally made it to the house-this was our view! That is Whiteface Mountain which we drove up later in the trip.

After a very very long walk we made it down to the river on property.

The clouds rolled in and we couldn't see the mountain anymore!

The rest of the crew rolled in after dark. Onto Day 2!

Friday

A handful of us got up and around to go see the Olympic Village at Lake Placid. This was pretty cool-we just checked out some information and the hockey rinks.

Then after we got back we all went for a hike to Cobble Lookout. Beautiful hike with even better views at the end.

A super nice guy was taking pictures and asked if we wanted a group photo with his camera. He emailed me the results within the day!

The kids had been waiting so patiently to go jump off some cliffs-we took them to Flume Falls which was right down the road from our house.

Sunset on the mountain.

Canada 2026 Part IV

Next up on our tour of Montreal was the Olympic Village. This was pretty neat, but not necessarily a must do.

Mom and I checked out the botanical gardens while the kids watched a movie at the planetarium and Josh wandered around.

Then we all did the Biodome. This was pretty cool but there were hundreds of children there for day camp so it was crazy.

We were super hungry by this point and took the Metro (and a not very nice bus) to Schwartz's Deli. We had to wait about 30 minutes but it was so worth it.

After our daily rest back at the hotel we were out again to Surprise! go eat.

Another day another Korean corndog. This was just an appetizer before dinner.

Last supper-Joa Cuisine Coreenne. We had a bunch of different things to share

Fried Chicken Cup Bap

U-Dong Stir Fry

After dinner we walked around a bit and caught some more Cirque shows.

And ended the night watching some line dancing.

Great ending to a wonderful trip! Next up, the Adirondacks :)
