Spring Break 2026

We spent a wonderful week with Josh's parents and grandparents in Florida for spring break. This is usually the trip we take in February but the kids' schedules did not work with that timing this year. We had beautiful weather (hot!) and spent lots of time at the beach, pool, and golf course.

Ike caught so many fish in the pond but none in the ocean.

We played Yahtzee several nights. Dave got 4 Yahtzees in one game!

We watched the sunset on our last night in paradise.

 

Florida 2025

We had such a great trip to visit our favorite retirees this year! And bonus this year-Josh's parents rented a house too so we had double the family to see :)

We were able to hit the monthly carry-in again this year. We usually miss it because of the timing of our trip but we lined it up this year!

We made it to a sunset on the beach. It's just so beautiful.

Our favorite beach (Caspersen) was closed due to hurricane damage. But we did visit Venice, Nokomis, and the North Jetties this year. 

Venice Beach

Met up with Barry and Divana for Sharky's Snack Shack.  It was delicious! And you can't beat that view.

Jetties-it was very windy with huge waves this day.

Ice cream picture! Both boys are well past being taller than I am.

Josh and Dave played lots and lots of golf.

Ike and I took lots of bike rides and hung out at the pool while they were golfing. 

Penny drop was a hit with everybody.

Last day-it was beautiful! 

And finally, had to document one of our many Buc-ee's trips. We planned our stops around them!

 

Florida 2024 Part Two

On Thursday morning we got up at the crack of dawn to hit the early bird special at Serenoa Golf Club. Golfing was incredibly pricey down in Florida so we were trying to save a couple bucks! This golf course was absolutely beautiful. I went along as Ike's driver :)

We were back with enough time to get a bike ride in before lunch. 

We decided to switch it up and went to the South Jetty beach today. It was way less crowded and the boys loved that they could throw the football without worrying about hitting other beachgoers!

It got a little cloudy so we didn't stay super long, but we really enjoyed this one. 

On Friday we were back at the North Jetties to soak up the last bit of beach before heading home on Saturday. 

Had to get a picture with our fabulous hosts. They have put up with us for 15 straight years!! That's not including the times before, I think I'm up to about 17 or 18 visits at this point!

We drove home all in one day, stopped at two Buc-ees along the way.
