We've been really busy travelling all over the place this last week. Last Friday we went to Evansville to visit my family-my aunt, uncle, and cousins came in from Kansas. It was awesome to see them! We hadn't seen them in a couple of years, so it was great to catch up.
Then we went up to Chicago from Wednesday-Friday. We went to get the baby's furniture from Ikea and ended up buying stuff for everybody! Lots and lots of furniture. I'll post a picture of the furniture once Josh and I get it together. It'll be a while though because he has to finish his class first. He will be officially done in October. Can't wait!
Anyway, we stayed with Josh's aunt and uncle in Chicago and then took the L into the city on Thursday.
We visited the bean...
We went to Shedd's aquarium. If you look closely you can see the caiman Josh is imitating in the background. That thing was stone cold.
Then we walked to the Art Institute. They have a new modern wing which is really cool. Saw lots of very strange art there, including an exhibit called clown torture. No words to describe it, just odd.
From there we walked to Navy Pier. Now, to get a perspective of how far all of this was, refer to the following pictures. They are taken from the same spot, but the one is a close-up of Shedd's aquarium, basically our starting place. You can barely make it out in the 2nd picture. Too much walking! Definitely should have listened when Josh said to just get a taxi. oops.
We just got back this afternoon, and have work again tomorrow. We received two new guys while we were gone! Holy cow. That's good though, White's has been low on admissions lately. And we have another one coming next week. Talk about job security :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
