Christmas 2020

For Christmas this year we got together with Josh's family to celebrate the weekend before actual Christmas. The kids all stayed at grandma and grandpa's then we got up Saturday morning to do presents. Friday night we all hung out and had dinner. The kids also got us to play an elaborate game of Among Us that Sophie created, which ended up being a lot of fun! We also played charades...here's a video of some of that hilarity.

All the kiddos.

For our lunch on Saturday Josh smoked a brisket. He was pretty nervous about it but it came out so delicious!

Ready for presents.

Family Feud...kids vs. adults.

We opened lots of presents, ate lunch, then sang some Christmas carols with Josh on guitar. Video of the 12 days of Christmas sing-a-long. After our get-together we took the Smith kiddos back to our house for a sleepover.

Twister with the cousins. Here's a video.

We didn't do too much for actual Christmas-Josh had to work so we opened presents early and then the kids just played with their new stuff! I did get a couple of cute videos though. Kids opening up pajamas and books. Ike saying candy can instead of candy cane.

Dave was obsessed with this crossword puzzle book he got.

Such cute boys!

Ike made this pillow for us as a present in his class.

We were scheduled to head to Evansville for a long weekend over the kids' break, but unfortunately Covid ruined that for us!  Instead, they went to visit the Smiths in Indianapolis and got to do lots of fun big city stuff! Playgrounds galore and they went to see the lights at the circle.

That about wraps up Christmas 2020! We are heading down to Evansville this weekend to finish up celebrating finally!

First Half of December

As was the case through most of 2020, December was pretty low-key for us. We played a lot of games, taught the kids how to play poker and chess, and Dave was fairly active with basketball and robotics.

Kids teamed up against us for Scrabble

Dave passed his state capital test!

Poker night with Augie.

Ike helped me deliver our Christmas cards to the mail room.

Picked up dog treats for Theresa...Ike almost ate them.

Dave and his teammate at his first robotics competition.

First big snow of the year. Kids were out by 8:30 to play in it.

Some of Dave's buddies joined in on the sledding.

First basketball game. Dave played point guard and scored one point.
