Unashamed Forever Tour

Our family is a little obsessed with concerts, so we will take any opportunity we have to take the kids and enjoy some great music! The weekend that spring break started we headed down to Indy to see 8 different Christian Hip-Hop artists that are all part of the same label, Reach Records. We've seen several of them before, but a couple were ones that we had yet to see and were super excited about!

Early dinner at Rush on Main in Zionsville.

Waiting in line before the show.

It was general admission so we waited a while...

Ha!

This was a great concert for us because it was held at a church which means it had seating for the kids when they got tired!

Lecrae

The kids were dancing around in the aisle and a group of kids behind us invited them to jam with them.

Trip Lee-I was the most excited for him!
Here's a video of the kids dancing during his set.

1K Phew and Tedashii.

This was an extremely long concert...it went on for a little over 3 hours and it was non stop except for a short intermission of about 15 minutes. The kids were so tired!

Realities of being up hours past your bedtime.

Definitely worth the lack of sleep but man that was a late night! The kids love going to super high energy concerts and this one did not disappoint!

Cousins Sleepover and Other Activities

The weekend before our actual spring break the Smith boys came up to visit with us. First all four boys spent the night with Josh's parents in Logansport, then they came to our house for the day and spent the night together again. They absolutely love getting together and have an awesome time!

Breakfast of champions at grandma and grandpa's.

Lunch time before heading to the park.

I took the boys to Southwood to play at the playground.

Dave and Zac before bed.

They must have been worn out between hanging with grandma and grandpa and our many adventures (park, pool, nerf gun wars) because they went straight to sleep!

Then on Monday we went over to Logansport to hang out with Barry's sisters (Amy was visiting from California). We had dinner and visited and of course played some Old Maid.

So cute!

Dave carbing up for IREAD. He did pretty fantastically by the way!

Ike thinks the sun being out is an indication that he needs to eat a popsicle. I don't think it was much over 50 degrees this day!

End of Winter

We came back from Florida to some more winter weather up here, but it does seem to be coming to an end...hopefully. Here's a quick update of what we did in March!

Ike wanted to dye his hair for crazy hair day. I wasn't so sure about that but Theresa came to the rescue with coloring it with sidewalk chalk!

The kids are obsessed with a book Josh got them called Struwwelpeter . It's basically tales of children going against what their parents say and then terrible things happen. Our kids think it's hilarious.

A dramatic story time.

Dave enjoying some Rise n Roll donut holes.

First B and K hotdogs of the year!

Playing some soccer on one of the rare nice days!
Here's a short video of the kids playing with a stomp rocket on another nice day.

Ike's program at the Honeywell. He was extremely pumped about this performance and he did a great job!

Proud of his clay monster he made in art class.

Dave reading to Ike.

It definitely feels like March was the month we just trudged through so we could get to spring! We are all looking forward to having a string of nice days instead of only getting one nice day here and there.

Florida 2019

We had another great trip visiting Josh's grandparents this year. Instead of going over the kids' (and my) actual spring break we decided to go in February again because it is by far my least favorite month in Indiana! This year did not disappoint and it was so nice just to be outside again for a week!

As soon as we arrived the kids wanted to go to the pool and so began our daily routine of pool, beach, and bike rides!

Dave taking a turn on the three wheeler. Not pictured is Josh riding Dave's bike and dropping his phone which of course cracked the screen. Josh's phones and vacations don't mix.

Gator sighting.

First taste of the beach!

Time to get to work digging a hole.

Such a stud!

We were treated to a fantastic show by a whole group of dolphins including several babies who were playing in the waves!

It's not a beach vacation without burying your brother.

Playing in the waves. Here's a video.

Ike is just too cool with his sunglasses. Right after this he did some parkour on the beach.

Grandma Mary and Grandpa Dave came with us on our annual trip to the grove for some ice cream!

Taking a walk on a cloudy evening.

We got lots of miles out of a paddle ball set we bought while down there!

Grandpa Dave got in on the action.

Look at these beach cuties!

Last day at the beach-until next year!

The boys had a great time golfing with Josh and gpa Dave.

One last picture before we took off!

We look forward to this trip every year and we leave feeling so refreshed and ready to face the rest of winter! We have the best hosts (they make us all our meals AND do our laundry!) so it's always hard to leave and this year was no exception. Lots of good food eaten, hours basking in the sun, and after dinner games of Farkle this year! Can't wait to get back next year and we're looking forward to Grandma Mary and Grandpa Dave's arrival back in Indiana this week!
