Apple Orchard and Rainbows

A couple of Saturdays ago Josh's parents went with the kids and I to McClure's Orchard in Peru. It's so nice there with tons of stuff to do with the kids and cheap apples that you can pick yourself. It was a beautiful fall day (the nice cool weather didn't last long but it was nice for a while!) so we spent some time checking out the animals, picking apples and doing a quick horse ride.

Dave's looking a little big for some playground equipment lately!

Ready for picking.

We worked hard to fill that bag! Galas, Fujis and a couple Honeycrisps.

They are so adorable sometimes!

Ike's first horse ride.

Dave wasn't as excited.

Ike won a fish at the church carnival. It didn't even make it 24 hours, which of course was devastating for Ike. I think we are going to get him set up with a real fish tank for his bday!

Working on his fear of storms...he played outside in the rain and ran inside to tell me about this beautiful rainbow.

Family Camp 2019

Over Labor Day weekend we participated in another year of family camp at Quaker Haven. The kids love all the activities and it's really fun to just hang out (and do some programming) for the long weekend! The weather wasn't the most cooperative this year but we were still able to be outside the majority of the time.

Both boys got to do the rock wall this year.

Ike is fearless-he loved the challenge of getting all the way to the top!

Dave did great too, but was a little more timid.

Catching frogs.

Popcorn by the bonfire!

Sunday was rainy so we took a walk and then headed in town for breakfast.

McDonald's of course.

Reading with their flashlights...love this so much!

Dave and Josh posted up inside. Basically at the beach.

Ike and I had the beach to ourselves.

Ready for sessions.

The sun came out after lunch, just in time for the slip and slide! Here are some videos of the boys going down. Dave. Ike.

Dave snagged a float for his sliding.

Countless games of gaga ball.

Gotta get that family picture.

Ike braved the cold water.

Cousins Playing at the Valley

Now that Josh's parents house is built, the kids love to spend time out there playing around in the creek and driving their golf cart. A couple weekends ago Josh's sister and her family came up so we came over to hang out with them!

My boys went to spend the night with everybody on Friday night and then we hung out all day Saturday. Saturday evening we hosted all the cousins at our house so Brit and Chad could go to the Colts preseason game.

Zac and I walking in the creek.

Ike got into the marshmallows and tried to wipe it off on the ground.

They found this cool bridge over the creek.

💖

Didn't know if I liked it better in color or black and white so I added both!

Back at our house we all went to the pool.

Roaming around campus with Brooklyn.

The kids always have a blast when they all get together. As a bonus they were all so tired from playing all day Saturday that they went to bed with no trouble at 9! Gotta love that :)

And here are a couple other pictures from that week...

I can't resist a picture of them reading! Dave joined me outside while I was reading my book.

At the Hootie and the Blowfish and Barenaked Ladies concert-so much fun!

First Day of School 2019

Outside the school after dropping off their supplies and meeting the teachers.

Had to take a walk to the mail room to pick up Ike's headphones that came in from Amazon :)

He looks so grown up! First day of 1st grade!

First day of 4th grade!

They were both pretty excited to get going...Ike's opinion on school has improved so much this year!

Just a photo of Ike eating the whole kiwi, skin and all. It's so weird.

They had school Wednesday-Friday and then spent the majority of the weekend outside.

I told Ike if he had a good first two weeks I'd bring him lunch-well he did great so I brought the kids both B&K (Dave didn't want me to eat with them but they have overlapping lunch times).

So excited for a spanish cheese dog!

Evansville Trip

We were home for a solid day and a half then the kids and I went down to Evansville to spend a long weekend! We had to get one more trip in before school started :)

Basically we hung out at various pools all day, ate some good food, and drove Grandpa Dave's new golf cart. Liam and Gavin were visiting Dad and Kyra so the kids got lots of cousin time in too!

They thought they were pretty hot stuff driving the golf cart.

Dave and Gavin.

Teaching Gavin to dunk.

Eating all the ice cream.

Grandpa showing the boys how to really drive :)

Made it to an Otters game. They are so much fun!

Gil taught Ike to heckle the other time. Important life lessons.

Tony and Grandpa.

Super good selfie with Aunt Kathy and Allie.

Ike is still working through his fear of storms so when it rained at Gamma's she took the kids outside to play in it.

Mom's whole neighborhood retains water, which is bad for them but made for lots of fun puddles and rivers.
