Spring Break-Atlanta and nobigdyl. Concert

This year we decided to break our Florida drive up a bit more than usual. We headed to Evansville and hung out with Tony and Ben and grandpa and then the next morning we drove to Atlanta for a concert.

Waiting out the Atlanta traffic.

Before the concert we ate dinner at FLIP burger. It's Richard Blais' restaurant (he's a top chef contestant if you don't know him). Food was delicious!

Ike and his Krispy Kreme milkshake which was delicious.

Dave researched what he was going to eat before we left. He got the fried mac and cheese burger.

We were extremely early for the concert so we walked around the midtown area of Atlanta for a while. The kids were pumped up for this concert-it was at a small venue and featured a rapper we saw last November, nobigdyl. Also performing were 1k Phew and Byron Juane and they had a secret special guest- WHATUPRG so that was awesome!

Waiting for the doors to open-it was so cold!

We were ridiculously close. This was 1K Phew performing.

We saw WHATUPRG walking around after his set so the boys met him and got their picture with him!

Such a great show, we absolutely love taking the kids to concerts and they have especially loved getting to see so many Christian hip hop artists lately!

Couldn't resist a picture at the continental breakfast the next morning before hitting the road to Florida! Shout out to Gamma for letting us use her hotel points! :)

Pre-Florida February

I can't remember why I took this picture but I really love it.

Dave working on his "book bag" homework. I really dislike book bag evenings, ha!

Ike has started reading some of the small books to us now. I have very mixed feelings about this! Here's a video of Ike reading with a little help from Dave :)

Field trip to Salamonie with Ike's class.

It was a VERY cold winter walk with the park ranger.

The boys were sent lots of Valentines this year!

Ike with his heart sticker for school.

Ike has recently had a lot of trouble with going to school in the mornings. He says it is because he misses me, but we're still not sure that's the main reason. He's fine once he gets to school so we're thinking maybe it's the bus? This last week he has gotten a little bit better, but one thing he has liked doing is putting a sticker in his pocket when he leaves in the morning so he can take it out and know we're thinking about him. It's the cutest!

Reading his new Paw Patrol book from Josh's parents before Dave's patriotic program.

The kids did such a great job and the program was awesome!

Basketball, Gamma Visit, Brief Warm Weather

Dave played Y basketball again this winter. He is so into basketball (he plays all the time with Josh and his dad and cottage kids). It was a little less organized than last year but Dave still had fun and made a few baskets!

Action shot. Here's a video of him making a jump shot.

With his buddy Alec. They weren't on the same team but got to see each other every week at least! (And I got to hang with Alec's momma :) )

Ike playing a Swedish game that came in his Kiwi Crate box that my aunt and family got him.

Gamma visited for the weekend and the kids insisted she read "small books" with them before bed. We always read a small book, a chapter of the Bible, and a chapter book every night!

Ike went to a birthday party for a girl in his class...he was feeling the unicorn theme.

Ike's tooth was sooooo loose before he finally lost it.

In fact, it was so loose that it ended up just falling out on its own while he was asleep. I can tell you it is very disorienting to wake up to a child telling you that his tooth fell out at 2:30 in the morning.

Finally got that gap!

The kids are super into helping cook!

The beginning of February gave us a beautiful day to play outside while the snow melted (finally).

Ice skating while Dave and Josh played catch with a football.

Walk around campus.

Ike insisted we play some "mother may I" which he proceeded to play incorrectly.

Beginning of January

January felt pretty busy for us but looking back on it I'm not sure what all we did! Dave had basketball games on Saturdays, the kids had some snow days, we went to a couple of White's basketball games (Josh helped with coaching the last part of the season), and we just generally were counting down the days until Florida!

Rare warm day calls for some football!

Ike supporting the team.

The boys got new headphones from Gamma.

So many sunglasses.

We worked on the kids' crates that my aunt and family got the kids for Christmas-these things are so fun!

Snow!!

Posing with the icicles.

Dave totally geared out for playing basketball with the cottage.

New Year's Evansville Visit

After the Pacers game we continued down to hang out in Evansville for a couple of days.

Who doesn't love playing with Gamma's leaf blower?

Finally got to tell the boys we are going to Universal and Disney over fall break!!

Ike and Uncle Ben.

He is such a weirdo!

Bowling!

Ike doesn't quite have it down yet but did pretty well.

Check out that form!

Of course the boys talked Gamma into playing some games after bowling was over :)

Our visits to Evansville are always too short! We got to see everybody but Dad and Kyra (off enjoying that fantastic Florida sunshine!). The kids and I are headed back down over spring break for a couple of days so definitely looking forward to it!

Pacers Game

Dave received tickets to a Pacers game from my dad and Kyra for his birthday, so on New Year's Eve we finally got to go!

We stopped for lunch at Bub's Burgers in Carmel. Yum!

Ready for the game. Dave had that smile plastered to his face the whole game!

Watching Vic come out of the tunnel!

Ike got a little bored but some cotton candy fixed that real quick!

That face.

Such a fun game and the Pacers won! Can't wait to go back again!
