Summer Beginnings

We had a pretty busy beginning of summer. I worked all of June (minus Fridays of course) but Josh took a lot of time off to hang out with the kids and shuttle them to their various activities.

Dave found his first four leaf clover.

The boys and Augie and Gabe at the Splash House.

Waiting on breakfast at 50 East on a Saturday morning.

Dad and Kyra came up for a visit to watch the kids play baseball. Thankfully the weather cooperated and the games didn't get canceled! They came up with the cousins for the day for the first game.

Tried to get an all cousin picture...we weren't super successful.

Dad and Morrison did a good job, ha!

Popsicles on a hot day.

Impromptu game of baseball.

Ike helping cart Morrison around at Dave's game.

Dave got on base! He also got a hit at a game later in the season, here's a video!

Dave had some pretty cute fans.

At Ike's game dad got a great picture of Ike with his coach. Clint coached Dave for two years and is now onto Ike!

Grandpa treated us to Culver's before the game.

The Reds after their last game.

Bennett turned 7, I cannot believe how old these boys are getting!

One morning as I went to work I saw the boys playing this intense game of balloon against the wall.

You can barely see it but there is a bunny in this picture and it is my number one enemy this summer. He's cute but keeps eating all my plants!

Evansville Visit and Memorial Day

We spent the first weekend of the kids' summer in Evansville. It was super toasty out so we got lots of pool time in!

They love this pool slide at Dad and Kyra's!

We helped their small group work on a community garden project.

If you squint you can see some of us in this picture.

Back to the pool after a hard morning's work.

We also got to see Tony and Ben's new house-so nice! Can't wait to check out their pool next time we visit :)

The boys love great-grandpa's convertible!

We got home Sunday afternoon and Josh had to work on Memorial Day so the kids and I went to hang out in Logansport.

Getting some cousin time in.

More fun in the pool.

We wanted to get a picture with all the great-grandkids but I never got one where everyone was looking/smiling, so I've just included all the ones I got!

Dave and Zac just looking cute!

Last Days of School

The last couple of weeks of school flew by for us! Baseball took up a lot of our time and the kids both had special stuff going on at school (field trips, etc.). They also had their yearly carnival where they get to spend all the points they collect all year by reading at home. I helped out this year and walked Ike and some classmates around. Holy moly kindergartners have some energy!

Dave and his buddy Alec enjoying some treats.

Ike was only a little excited.

Unrelated to school ending, but we always have a family of birds that nest in our awning that dive bomb us every time we enter and leave our house. This year we got to see the babies just before they flew off.

Aren't they cute?

Before school ended my mom came up to visit the weekend before school was out to hang with the kids and check out a couple baseball games.

Speaking of baseball games, there sure were some cold ones this year!

Really wish I had brought gloves to this one!

And finally last day of school pictures. The kids (mostly Ike) were extremely excited for summer to begin. Dave pretty much loves school so he misses it most days!

I can't believe we will have a 1st and 4th grader next year!

King's Kaleidoscope and Wordsplayed Concert, Baby Raccoons, and Playing in Puddles

At the beginning of May we finally got to see one of our favorite bands, King's Kaleidoscope in concert. We have been following them for several years and jumped on the chance to see them live. As an added bonus, Wordsplayed opened for them who we also really enjoy!

Waiting in line for the doors to open.

Early dinner at The Mug in Irvington. Great place!

King's was amazing! The venue (the Irving Theater) was really cool and they killed it. Here's a short video.

Before the concert we ran in to Wordsplayed! This is becoming a regular occurrence, I wonder who we will see next!

So. Much. Rain. But the kids have taken advantage of the puddles on multiple occasions!

Ike has become a regular four leaf clover-finder. If he looks he always finds one. Just like his momma!

Our neighbor Lisa found some baby raccoons and fostered them until they were big enough to go to a rescue home.

Oh man those babies were cute! Their claws were already pretty sharp though, so I was glad to be meeting a baby and not a grown raccoon!
