Ike Turns 11

I always feel like a broken record on birthday posts, but man I can't believe Ike is 11 already! He is such a fun kid and I know I won't be able to describe him as a kid much longer which breaks my heart. But I am so excited to see how he grows in this next year.

Here's his birthday dinner/"cake". Ha he didn't really want a dessert so we stuck his candle in his bread, worked just fine!

 

As far as what Ike is about lately-he is obviously still super into soccer. He loves to play outside and play video games. He is less excited about reading lately (which I don't love) but he is still very excited about school, especially science and math. He wants to be a chemist one day and has his heart set on MIT for right now!  He is still absolutely hilarious and such a kind person.

Dave and Ike were awarded the junior golf scholarship at Etna Acres so they can play for free for the whole year!

Fall Soccer and September Happenings

Ike had a great fall soccer season, he scored a couple of goals and played a lot at the goalie position.

One Saturday after his game Ike and I explored around downtown Wabash so he could play some Pokemon while Josh and Dave went golfing. 

Ike helped me watch kids at our church's parents date night event. Here he is with Ryleigh :)

Family Camp 2023

Family Camp was so much fun again this year. We had awesome weather and spent a lot of quality time together (and apart!). 

Of course the kids got canteen every day :)

BMW Championship, Concert and Pokemon

Josh and the boys were able to go to Sunday of the BMW Championship outside Chicago at the end of the month. They all had an awesome time even though it was smoking hot! They got to see lots of famous golfers and witness a pretty epic ending.

They made it on tv! I think it was Matt Fitzpatrick's ball that landed right by them. 

It was a super long day for them but they all had a really good time. 

The next weekend we took Dave and his buddies on a Pokemon adventure in Marion. It wasn't much better than when they go to Wabash, but we did get to have an awesome lunch at Mama's Hometown in downtown Marion first!

And finally, to round out the month Josh and I went to see Modest Mouse in Indianapolis. Great concert and since they weren't headlining we got to head home early! Love not being out as late!

Mini Bowyer Bonanza 2023

Josh's Aunt Gayle hosted a mini reunion for the Bowyer fam at her house in August. We had so much fun catching up with family from all over-as far as Texas and California!

We celebrated a couple of birthdays.

Of course there was tons of delicious food.

Rainy Kings Kaleidoscope Concert

Kings Kaleidoscope is one of our very favorite bands, so pretty much any time they come close we get tickets. We upgraded to the picnic table section again and boy we were glad we did that this time!

At this venue you're allowed to bring outside food in so we stopped and got food from Kuma's Corner which was right by the Hi-Fi Annex. Food was fantastic!

The kids could go right up to the stage, it was really cool!

Looks nice and sunny right? Ha, right in the middle of the opening act it started just pouring down rain. Tons of people came to seek refuge under our umbrella but it wasn't providing all that much protection honestly. It did keep us from getting soaked so that was very nice.

As always they put on an incredible show. So thankful they come through Indianapolis fairly frequently!
 

First Day of School

Crazy to believe the boys are in 8th and 5th grade this year! They started out strong and were fairly excited to be going back.

Got in a little golf after being at school for a couple of days!

Once again hunting Pokemon downtown. This time I joined them for a little bit and we got some great food from a food truck during the farmer's market!

Josh's parents took them to the drive-in. It was Ike's first time going. They both had a great time!

I am very proud of how my lavender did this summer! Not that I did much to it but I can take credit right?
