Dave's 3rd Birthday

Every time Dave hits another milestone, I am always taken by surprise.  I am not sure how I am going to survive things like high school graduation and him moving out!  This time my baby (not so much anymore) turned three and I am both saddened and incredibly excited.  I really can't wait to see what the next year will bring as far as his personality and abilities go.  He has changed so much since last year!

Here are a couple pictures from the last weeks that I haven't had a chance to post...

Guess I'm not as cool as I thought-clearly I am upsetting him in some way.

Still a total ham for the camera.

He loves to make silly faces with mom while I get videos ready for him on youtube.

Waiting patiently for his next "concert" to get ready-he loves watching bands play.

He has really grown to love music-I'll post a picture of his new drum set once we get it set up.

This year we had two little celebrations for him-one at Josh's parent's house, and one at the cottage on his actual birthday.

Watching grandma load up his donuts with candles.

Ready for his cake in the cottage.

The boys convinced him to dive right in!

I decided that I should document in some way what Dave is like on his birthday, so this year I started what I hope will become a tradition of interviewing him on his favorite stuff (or at least trying to!).  Here's his 3rd birthday video.

All in all, it's been a great year with Dave.  The past couple months have been a little rough with the addition of Isaac, but he has definitely been getting better as far as that goes.  He has such an awesome personality and jokes around with us constantly.  I can't believe that he can memorize entire songs, and I'm pretty sure he is the youngest Foster the People fan out there.  You know you're doing something right when your child requests that you play the song John Deere Green constantly :)

I am so grateful to have such a great kid to be a part of our lives.  Life with Dave is never boring, and I am looking forward to see what kinds of antics he gets into over the next year!

Thanksgiving 2012

This year we split Thanksgiving into two days with Josh's family.  We were able to get away from work for several hours on Thursday, so we went into Logansport to celebrate with the Bowyer clan.

Josh's uncle Scott entrusted Dave with the very important job of being the sheriff of Thanksgiving.  Basically guarding any outsiders from stealing our delicious food.

Isaac spent the entire time sleeping, most of the time cuddled up on Grandma Bertie's lap.

The boys with Bertie.

Then on Saturday we went back to Logansport to celebrate with the Sievers side.  We had soup and sandwiches and attempted to eat up all the leftovers from Thanksgiving.

Grandpa Dave chatting with Caleb.

We brought Dave's new train set and all the big kids loved it!

Dave and Sophie painting.

I even got a smile out of Isaac!

Sophie practicing holding a baby (she has a new brother or sister coming in April).

Dave of course was jealous of Sophie holding Isaac.

Sassy.

Arguing over the trains.

Caleb was unconcerned with their quarrel.

We had such a great time at both get-togethers and have so much to be thankful for!

A Week in Evansville

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past week or so!  We spent the last bit of my maternity leave hanging out with family down in southern Indiana, and had a great time.  I took a ton of pictures, so this is going to be a long post!

Isaac with great-grandpa Dave.

Uncle Tony and Ike.

Tony was quite the baby whisperer throughout the week, though I did notice a severe lack in changing diapers...

Gamma and the boys.

Captain America!

Helping Grandma Kyra bake cakes.

That picture was taken right after Dave made it rain flour while mixing up the batter...oops.

Playing mini golf with Uncle Tony.  Dave really liked it and told me, "Mom, I'm really good at golf!".

Playing a game at the mini golf place.

Look at all the tickets we won!  Of course the prizes we bought with all these tickets are already broken...

Papa Charlie and Ike.  I had to crop Dave out of this one, he was giving Isaac an evil look.

At Grandpa Dave's.  He made us a delicious dinner on Tuesday night.

One night at my dad's.  Isaac blew through his outfit and of course we forgot an extra.  He's wearing Dave's sweatshirt.

Playing with Uncle Tony.

Finally captured a smile on camera!

So as you can see, we had a great week!  Dave struggled a lot with sharing his attention, but it's good for him to get over it.  And in some really big news, both boys slept all night last night!!!  First time that's ever happened.  Here's hoping they keep it up   :)

Isaac is 1 Month Old!

I can't believe our little fella is already a month old!  He has gotten so big already (already growing out of his 0-3 month clothes!), and is learning new skills all the time.

Enjoying some tummy time.

He's already a big Colts fan.

Hanging out in his bouncy chair.

Dave cannot keep out of Isaac's pictures.

These tiny shoes are ridiculously adorable.  Also, Isaac was handed down Dave's awesome Queen onesie (that my friend from college bought-thanks Liz!).

Here is a series of Isaac's one month photos, followed by a comparison of Dave's one month picture.

Starting to lean...time for pictures to end!

I think Dave looks a little thinner, but it's hard to tell since he's in a shapeless sleep sack.  But their faces really do look remarkably the same.

Isaac's first month was pretty uneventful.  He did get his first cold, poor guy.  We've been suctioning out his nose a couple times a day, which is horrible.  He also rolled for the first time last week.  Here's the proof of Ike's first roll over in video.  He rolled three times that day, and then hadn't since until this morning.  So maybe it wasn't a fluke!

Otherwise, he's still eating a lot, as evidenced by the fact that he already weighs 12 pounds.  That seems heavy to me.  Sleeping well at night and during the day, so I have been especially appreciative of that.  He doesn't seem to like his pacifier too much, which is fine with us.  And he really likes to look at pictures on walls-we noticed because he cranes his neck to look at them when we're sitting on the couch.
