Ike Turns 9

Our little guy (who is not so little) turned 9 last month! Hard to believe he is almost to double digits already. I didn't get a video of him talking about his favorites yet but if I do I'll add it to this post!

We had an evening with just Ike a couple of days before his birthday so we took him to one of his favorite restaurants, Junk Ditch in Fort Wayne.

Brussels sprouts are still one of his favorite foods so we had to get that of course.

I've been wanting to try this ricotta gnocchi for a long time and this was the perfect excuse to get it! So good. I'm super happy that both the kids love the experience of eating out at nice restaurants. It's been really fun to take them to some of our favorite places and watch them enjoy it!

Always a goof, he just can't help it.

For his birthday we had his friend Ben over the night after their soccer game that morning. Here's a video of Ike scoring a goal at one of his last games!

We met up with the Getz family at the local apple orchard to go through the corn maze.

After the apple orchard we came home and the cousins joined us for dinner and the boys stayed the night for Ike's birthday.

The boys got the hungry man's breakfast from Josh in the morning. Look at the size of those pancakes!

As for Ike's likes/dislikes (ha rhyming!): He has been really into watching old Disney channel shows like That's So Raven and Even Stevens lately. And old school movies (think movies Josh and I watched when we were growing up). As I mentioned above his favorite food is still Brussels sprouts and his favorite color is black/purple depending on the day.

For school he likes reading the best and has really enjoyed being on the robotics team. They have their first competition this week. He has been doing great in math as well, cruising through his times tests and is now on division! He dislikes being by himself right now, especially if Dave is gone for the night with a friend or is doing something fun Ike's not old enough to do yet (like youth group or going to a football game). He'll get there but it's hard being the younger brother!
