Ocean Isle Beach Part 1

In June we went on an awesome family vacation with my mom, Tony and Ben, and grandpa. We absolutely loved Ocean Isle Beach (it's on the southern edge of North Carolina)! Great weather, the beach, and hanging with family...the perfect combination!

We stopped overnight on the way out-the kids got to swim for a bit to get some energy out!

We got to the beach early to avoid some of the traffic and had lunch on the ocean. After that we got ready and headed right down to the beach.

The boys love the ocean!

I think Dave was in time-out at this point but he still looks cute playing in the sand.

The porch of our house. If you look really closely between the two buildings you can see a sliver of ocean.

Josh and Ike enjoying the hammock under the house.

Ike helping tear down a big mound of sand. Sea turtles were laying eggs while we were staying so the beach has to be flat.

Grandpa and Ike on an ocean walk.

Mom and I rocking our crazy beach hair!

The boys loved that hammock!

Chilling with Uncle Tony in his sweet air hammock.

The boys enlisted Tony to help with a sand castle.

Ike and grandpa loved sitting out on the porch and having long chats.

Because everybody needs a rake at the beach.

Pretty sunset.

Ben helping Ike bury himself.

Here's a video of Ike breaking out. And one of Dave.

Gamma and Ike relaxing in the pool.

Grandpa got in the pool with us!

Much more to come, I took tons of pictures :)

Beginning of Summer

This is a little look into our summer before we left for vacation mid-June.  We try to keep the kids pretty occupied but they still manage to get plenty of video gaming in :)

Josh and I took the boys and other staff kids to the Mississinewa. We had to leave early bc of some pop-up storms but still had fun!

Dave got a squad win on Fortnite...pretty pumped about it.

We kept Elli for a day and I caught them reading to her. Too cute.

Playing in the sprinkler.

Had to get the sprayer back on to torment one another. Here's a video.

Enjoying the kick-off party to summer reading.

Waiting on dinner at First Friday.

Dave and Kyson ready for Sampler Camp at Camp Mack!

My friend Jodi and I took this clan to the city pool! Great group of kids.

Another win with his friend Augie.

Ike trying to get in on the credit.

Bennett's birthday party.

85 United concert in town.

Showing off how big his sunflower had gotten. I need to take another picture-it's taller than he is now!

Another fun outing with Dave's buddies from school. Alec was there too, I just didn't get a picture with everybody!

That wraps up what we did before vacation! I can't believe summer is already half over, it's going way too fast!

Spring Sports

The boys had a fun season of sports this spring, Dave played baseball again (coach's pitch) and Ike played soccer. I do think Ike will switch to baseball next year, he's just not all that enthusiastic about soccer once the games actually start!

Ready for Dave's game.

Dave is super intense and takes warm-up very seriously.

Augie and Mike came to watch one of Dave's games.

Dave's team ended up winning the championship this year! We missed the final game because of vacation but we cheered them on in spirit!

Playing catcher.

In the bleachers.

Look at this cutie!

Playing through a pretty heavy rain. I don't think Ike's hands were stopping much.

Posing with grandma and grandpa before his game.

Pre-K Graduation and Last Days of School

Another school year is over for the boys! We now have a Kindergartner and a 3rd grader. Hard to believe! They have both made big strides in school this year and are excited (for the most part) to start their next grades.

Ike's last day of Pre-K. I am going to miss having a kid at Little Friends, we are so thankful for everyone there!

Crazy pose. He is REALLY into Fortnite dance moves right now.

At Ike's graduation. Josh brought a bunch of cottage boys so he could come when he was working. Here's a video of what Ike wants to be when he grows up.

Dave's giving Ike the thumbs down for some reason. Such a nice older brother.

Ike with his teacher Miss Tammy.

Celebrating his first day of freedom with some B&K hotdogs.

We finished the first Harry Potter! After which we watched the first movie. They both liked the book better, raising them right!

Last day of 2nd grade for Dave.

Quick Trip to Detroit and Mother's Day in Evansville

My mom came up to visit with us for a week early on in May. Her main reason was to watch the kids for us while we went to Detroit for a concert, but she also got to see the kids play baseball and soccer so that was super cool!

We went on a hike since we had some beautiful weather.

Ike diligently helping look for mushrooms. We didn't find any this year!

Detroit! We are along the riverfront here.

Found a place with oldschool arcade games. Unsurprisingly I was terrible at everything! Games are hard.

Getting ready for Haim! Man that was a great concert!

We got back from our trip, hung out for a day and then headed down to Evansville for the weekend.

Ike and Aunt Kathy with some sweet glasses.

Dave working hard for money to pay for camp. Grandpa had him wash his convertible!

Ike helped clean off the patio. And watched Dave :)

Finishing off grandpa's pie.

Ready for the 5K!

The 5K was the main reason for our visit. I came in last of our group (keeping in mind Tony didn't train at all!) and I was beat by a person who was speed walking, ha! But, we did it and it was relatively fun!

At Dad and Kyra's pool. It was so hot!

Action shot.  Here's a couple of videos...Dave dunkingIke flipping.

That was a fun-packed week for us! The rest of May wasn't too eventful which was nice. Now school is out and we're pretty busy again-guess that's life with kids!
