We had yet another fabulous visit to Evansville last weekend.
This is from last week, but I wanted to show off Dave's work ethics. Starting him at a young age. He runs around saying "mow, mow!" all the time now.
We made it in late Thursday night (as usual). On Friday morning, my grandpa (papaw Dayday) came over and Dave got to hang out in his cool truck.
We had lunch with a former student and my brother. Then, we went with my dad and Kyra to the Mesker Park Zoo. Best part? We got in free with our Fort Wayne Zoo pass. It was only supposed to be half off!
Dave riding around. Making some kind of animal sound I'm sure. He kept yelling "what's there?!" when we came upon a new exhibit.
On Saturday, mom and I went to yard sales in the morning. We scored some pretty good stuff, including a crib for our nephew who will be arriving soon.
Here's Gamma and Dave after pizza at my grandpa's.
On Sunday, we had a big breakfast with my mom and then went over to my dad's to hang out for the day. We spent most of the day by the pool.
Josh got all artsy with my camera. Neat looking picture huh?
I couldn't resist showing off my coppertone baby. His swim trunks were a little too big.
Dave and my dad had a blast playing in the pool. Here's a video to prove it. Dave and Grandpa Charlie.
Definitely a fun weekend! Finally, here's a video of Dave reading one of his favorite books.

Incredibly Cute Video
Dave had a bit of a rough day today-I'm blaming it on teething, but who knows. Anyway, he totally made up for it during bath time tonight.

Fort Wayne Zoo
Here's the video I promised: Dave and Josh playing the drums.
On Thursday, we had another beautiful day, so we decided to take Dave to the zoo. We bought a membership which is reciprocal to get half off the Evansville and Columbus zoos. We'll definitely get our money's worth!
Our first stop was the African Safari. They have a male and female lion. We spotted the female easily from one side, but couldn't see the male. When we walked around the corner, we found him sleeping against the glass.
Dave up close and personal with the lion. He's doing his lion roar.
He was fascinated by the giraffes this time. I think they have six now.
In the snake/fish area. Dave touched a corn snake. Or at least came close to touching one.
These turtles are much bigger than the ones at home. Dave calls our turtles "curtles" and he kept yelling it at them.
The zoo was crazy crowded with elementary school kids. Dave really loved that and was just as interested in the kids as the animals. In the petting zoo section, it was chaos. Dave just ran around from one goat to another.
Love the reaction in this one.
I will come back tomorrow and post a video of Dave and Josh playing drums in the African section.

Catch Up Post
I've had a couple people reprimand me on not posting last week. So, to make up for it, here's my extra post this week.
Dave playing hide and seek with Daddy's hat.
The same day: he learned to push the ottoman over to the window, and used the air conditioner to peek out.
Pumped to be wearing his Bubble Guppies shirt.
Mother's Day morning. We had to work, but Barry and Divana took Dave to Logansport for celebrations, so we got a 6 hour break!
We've had some gorgeous weather all last week. I grew very ambitious, and decided we should go hiking in Mississinewa. Not my brightest idea. The lady at the front gate did not mention that all the trails were pretty much under water when we purchased our pass.
As it turns out, Dave was not very thrilled to be in the carrier we used last year. Looks like we are going to have to break down and buy a fancy backpack carrier for our trip out West.
We ditched the hiking and played at the park instead. Dave's posing on the slide.
And finally, Dave loves to listen to headphones...even if they aren't plugged in to anything. Also, check out his super cute monkey pj's courtesy of Gamma (my mom).

Trip to Columbus
This past weekend, we went to visit my mom and Andrew at their new apartment in Columbus. We had a superb time, and can't wait to go back! It was so awesome to be in a major metropolitan area. One of the highlights of my visit was getting to go (for the first time!) to a Trader Joe's AND a Whole Foods. I totally felt like Richard Blais as I checked it out. We lead a very sheltered life here in Wabash!
Hanging out with his new (to him) slide in their apartment.
On Saturday, my mom and I went to check out the Cleopatra exhibit in Cincinnati-it was awesome! In the meantime, Josh took Dave to the Columbus Zoo. I think they had an equally good time.
At the entrance. Josh apologizes for the quality of pictures. I think he was taking them on the wrong setting. It is also incredibly difficult to corral a 17 month old and take pictures at the same time.
This bear was asleep until Dave woke him up. Good thing there was a barrier between them!
Hanging with the goats.
Dave and the polar bear. This sounds like a pretty awesome zoo-I can't wait to go visit it soon. We are getting a pass to the Fort Wayne Zoo, so we get half off at several other zoos, including the Columbus one. Pretty cool.
We left Sunday morning and had lunch with Josh's parents. It was very nice out, so we were able to hang out and soak up some rays before coming home. After we made it home, Josh thought it may be prime time for mushroom hunting. So, we ventured out, and discovered quite a good spot.
Here are our mushrooms that we gathered in less than an hour.
Once I download the pictures and videos from Josh's and my mom's phones, I'll post again-sorry no videos this time. Check back in a couple of days.
