Ike's face when he is told no. This happens a lot lately.
He is such a fantastic, fun kid and I can't wait to see him grow up (but not too fast...). His favorite things right now include: climbing, pointing at random things and saying "that", any kind of heavy equipment that happens to be around as we walk around campus, hanging out with his best bud Bennett (and sometimes big brother Dave), and doing anything outside.
Ike currently says about 12 words including: duck, dog, this, dave, and hi. He really loves to talk and jabbers as if he is saying full sentences. He does not like being told no and has a very dramatic reaction when anyone says that to him. He is starting to learn some animal sounds (kind of gets that a dog barks and a sheep says baa) and loves to push cars and trucks around the house saying "vroom".
He is officially done nursing and is exclusively drinking milk now. Ike's favorite foods are: macaroni and cheese, any and all vegetables, and his newest love...oreo cookies thanks to Josh. He is pretty close to full on walking. Right now he takes about 3-6 steps everywhere then decides that crawling is still much faster. Here's a video of him walking.
Some pictures from his birthday party...
His gorgeous cake :)
Growing impatient to eat that cake. He was very uninterested in the whole song and candle deal.
I think he liked it!
Dad and Kyra came up on his birthday so we celebrated again. Ike was pumped to get more cake!
Posing for his 12 month picture.
He loves to climb on this rocking chair.
Check out his first real injury. He fell on the edge of the coffee table. Also, he is now able to climb up on Dave's bed by himself.
Well that about wraps up Ike at age 1. He has many similarities to Dave at the same age, but I can tell a pretty big difference in their personalities. For instance, I think Ike may be the sneakier of the two...I guess only time will tell! Here's one more video of Ike playing with his fruit cup after he ate all the pears.
