August just snuck up on us this year! The kids started school on the 11th and it was whirlwind ever since.
Ike wasn't super pumped to go back to school but he's been doing great!
Dave was the most excited of course!
So far the school year has gone really well. Their classes are small enough that they only have to wear masks in the hallways to and from places. Ike has had a harder time adjusting-we've had lots of teary mornings-but he's getting through it and is mostly fine now.
Right before school started we finally got around to getting Ike's aquarium set up. We purchased three fish and all seemed to be going great.
Until we discovered 10 baby fish one morning! Turns out the orange fish was pregnant (we did ask the store if it was pregnant and they said no!). The babies slowly left us one by one and then I think the balance of the tank was off because we lost all the original fish too! Now we are waiting a bit before trying again...I think we'll just get one fish to start off and see how we do .
If you look close you can see all the babies.
We also had a visit from Gamma right before school started! It was so nice to have her come up because she couldn't for so long due to lockdown.
Dave built his baby Yoda brickheadz.
Dave and I have continued our walks most days. We usually go in the afternoon now.
Ike's sunflowers have gone crazy! They are getting huge.
We had Ben come stay the night and went over to the Valley to hang out with the Smiths.
Lots of golf cart rides!
Sophie getting mad air on the trampoline.
We brought the boy cousins back with us to stay the night with Ike and Ben.
Hanging at the Valley.
Some of our many masks courtesy of my mom!
Hiking in Kokiwanee. We got a touch turned around which added about 2 miles to our hikes!
We did find the waterfall!
Ike biting into a "wild corndog" aka cattail.
