17 months old!

I cannot believe how big he is getting. He's about to outgrow his 18 month winter wear that I thought he would never fit into in the first place. Thankfully, shorts fit longer because I have a ton of 18 month shorts for this summer!

Sorry for the food in the picture-I'm having to get very creative to keep Dave from attacking my poster.

Dave is loving the intermittent nice weather that we've been getting. This is from last Saturday-Josh's mom and I took him to the park after the Easter bunny.

Here he is all gussied up Easter morning. We attended the singing at the chapel. Dave's not at a point where he can sit through a sermon (or anything for that matter).

I love this goofy grin!

Dave takes cleaning very seriously. Last week, he upgraded his toy vacuum to the real deal. Living the high life.

Thank you to everybody who contributed to Dave's Easter basket(s) this year! He loved spoiling himself with some M&Ms and other candies. I think one of his favorite things was the Bubble Guppies shirt that my dad and Kyra sent for him. Here's a video of him wearing it (and doing various other things of course). Bubble Guppies shirt.

This weekend we're heading to Columbus to check out my mom and Andrew's new digs. And mom and I are going to the Cleopatra exhibit in Cincinnati-Super pumped about that.

Happy Easter

Josh's mom and I took Dave to see the Easter Bunny at the Honeywell Center in Wabash this morning. As expected, it didn't go great, but the picture is still cute!

We know the guy in the suit-he runs the storeroom on campus.
If you click on the picture, you'll get a better view of Dave's face.

After the trauma of the bunny, we took Dave outside to enjoy the beautiful spring day. We finally saw the sun!

Dave and grandma with the pretty trees. Doesn't look like he was scarred for life from the bunny.

Well, I hope everyone has a blessed Easter. I'll put up a more extensive post later next week.

Visits with Family

We had last Wednesday (and Thursday) off, so we went to visit Josh's family in Logansport. Dave got to see lots of grandmas (one great, and one great-great) and we popped in to see Josh's aunt and uncle as well.

Hanging out with great-great-grandma Roberts.

Chilling on great-grandma Bertie's recliner.

Annoying poor Mo. Dave even tried to ride him like a horse a couple times. Mo's such a good cat, he just let Dave do whatever.

On Thursday, we celebrated Josh's Dad's birthday.

Playing outside-I'm sure missing that weather right now!

Grandma and babies.

Grandpa and babies.

Not sure exactly what Sophia's doing...but I loved her expression.

Once we moved inside, they both took a ride on the horse in the play room.

I think Sophie was tired of me taking pictures. She's definitely giving me a look.

I wasn't very good about videos this week...but here is one of Dave saying Josh. "Josh." He started calling Josh by his real name a couple days ago, it's hilarious.

And here's another of him riding his four-wheeler inside. I brought it in from the rain and forgot it was there until Dave came flying around the corner on it. Riding four-wheeler.

Procrastinated Post

As I mentioned in the post below, the boys have been out of school for the last week or so. I'll use that as my excuse for not providing a post last week. But, I did take pictures, so here goes...

Dave enjoyed hanging out in the cottage full time. Well, at least most of the time.

We had a pretty major leak that first appeared in our bedroom. Maintenance came to check it out, and this is what happened to our bathroom. Two days later, we had a working bathroom again. Not ideal when that is the only bathtub we have in our house! But, we did get new a new floor out of the deal.

We took the boys on a working off-campus trip to Quaker Haven. It was supposed to be kind of nice, but ended up being about 45, cloudy, and windy. Dave was a trooper and made it until lunch, and then we took off ahead of the fellas.

Dave loved this piggy bank we got from our friends the Lauers. He liked to ride around on it like a horse. About a minute after this picture was taken, Dave spiked it on the floor and it shattered into a million pieces.

I caught him on the table again getting into my Easter eggs. Then he found his pig up there and got really excited.

Since I almost always put up extremely cute photos and videos of Dave, I thought I should put up one that showcases the other side of our little guy. I was attempting to get him to do the Itsy, Bitsy Spider motions (which he can totally do by the way), and we had a bit of a meltdown. Cranky Dave.

Trip to Evansville

We headed down to visit my family this past weekend. It was awesome to get away after having the guys around all the time last week because they were on Spring Break.

As usual, we drove down after work Thursday night, arriving in the early hours of Friday. Dave and I were very excited to realize how awesome the weather was, and spent the morning hanging out outside with my grandpa. Then, Tony and Josh went to play a round of golf, and grandpa, Dave, and I went to walk along the river.

The Daves on the river trail.

Dave checking out great-grandpa's ride.

Then we went to buy shorts for Dave and I because it was sweltering. I didn't exactly pack for 80 degree weather. We met Dad at his house to hang out, and then headed over the park near his house to play. I'm not sure who had more fun-dad or Dave!

I think this picture is actually from Saturday, we went to the park three times this weekend. Dave loved going down the slides all by himself.

Chillin in Uncle Tony's car. He loves cars anyway, but I think he really loved being outside and being able to push all the car buttons.

On Saturday, we hung out with dad in the morning, then met my mom and aunt at my grandpa's for pizza. Mom brought Dave's new (to him) toy-a four wheeler!

He isn't quite used to it yet. He doesn't push the button down continuously, so he starts and stops a lot.

Gamma and Dave. Anytime he's outside, he has to have his golf clubs.

On Sunday, we celebrated my Dad's birthday (big 5-0!) by going over and having him cook brunch for us. Aren't we nice? Anyway, it was delicious, and we got to see Kyra's son Rob and his girlfriend Molly. Then we were on our way back home.

It's always a whirlwind weekend, but it was especially nice this time because of the weather. It was in the mid 80s all weekend. Definitely rejuvenating after the crappy weather we've been having lately.

One final thing we took from our trip-the turtles. Since my mom moved, my grandpa's been going over to feed them. So, we volunteered to take over their care for a while. We brought them home with us, and so far so good. Dave loves chasing them around, and it's probably good for them to get out and around. Of course, I took a video.
