We made it to Evansville Wednesday night, so we had Thursday and Friday to hang out pretty much by ourselves since everybody else had to work. So, on Thursday, we went over to the Warrick County fair to check out the animals and projects.
Ike sure does love the turkeys for some reason.
Josh and Dave with the chickens.
It was crazy hot, so we spent lots of time at Dad and Kyra's house to take advantage of the pool.
Ike and Papa Charlie keeping cool.
Dave practicing his swimming.
Big boy in the cozy coupe.
Watching the stomp rocket fly with great-grandpa.
Ike and grandpa posing in front of his car.
Dave riding Papa Dave's awesome motorcycle.
Dave wasn't feeling having his picture taken apparently.
Ike helping put dishes away.
Josh left on Sunday to come back to work last week. The kids and I stayed until Thursday when Dad and Kyra came to Indy and Josh picked us up. We had a great time hanging out, but we were very ready to get home!

Catching Up
The kids and I have been in Evansville all week, so I haven't gotten around to posting anything lately. I thought I should catch up a little before getting into recent activities, so here you go!
Last Tuesday, Stacey (my neighbor) and I took the kids to Mississinewa Beach to play for a bit. It was a super hot day, but we went in the morning so it wasn't too hot yet.
Ike experiencing the sand. He didn't really get to play much when we were in Florida this spring.
Buddies playing in the water.
Ike loved crawling in the water.
I think Dave was showing off his muscles...total beach body :)
Then on Wednesday we headed down to Evansville. We stopped in Indy for Caleb's birthday party (can't believe he is 2 already!) and hung out with some of Josh's family.
Blowing out his candles.
Papa Boo entertaining the kids.
Dave reenacting the end move from Dirty Dancing with Brit catching him.
Siblings plus spouses and kids (and minus Zach, he was sleeping).
We got back on the road, and Dave entertained us the rest of the trip with his crazy stories. He is getting pretty good!
Here is a little sample of some of his work.

Random Activities
We did some fun stuff this past week (along with going to the fair!), so here's what went on...
Ike dressed up like Rambo and did a little web surfing.
I read online about creating ice blocks with stuff inside for kids to try and get out. It was so easy to make and Dave loved it. And we have made them pretty much every day since!
He discovered there were pennies in the ice.
He thought kicking at it would be an effective solution.
Look it cracked!
Last week it finally heated up enough to bust out the slip-n-slide I bought a couple of weeks ago. I thought Dave would really get into it, but as it turns out he was not into the fact that it was slippery. Go figure...
He didn't run so he just stayed put.
They mostly used it as a fancy sprinkler.
We had a huge storm blow up one afternoon (tornadoes in the next town over!). When the kids woke up from nap time they discovered a huge pond in our front yard. It was definitely the most fun we have had in a while!
Dave really enjoyed "jumping in" from the road.
Ike crawling around in the swampland.
Big splashes.
And that sums up our week. We had a lot of fun and the kids had a blast. Oh, and here's a video of Ike playing with his new stacking cups.

A Week at the Fair
This past week was Wabash County's 4H fair, and we had a blast taking the kids to it. On Monday, we went with Barry and Divana to get some dinner and check out some animals.
Ike was not a huge fan at first.
Dave begged us to ride some of the rides. Of course we gave in and Dave was soooo pumped to ride the four wheeler ride. And then he got on it and looked like he was having the worst time ever.
So serious.
We got some food, then headed over to check out some livestock.
Ike really enjoyed the goats.
And the turkeys.
Then on Tuesday, we went again with our neighbors Stacey and Bennett, along with Adi (Stacey watches her during the day). We mainly went to see the animals (again), but also checked out the projects this time.
Ike and Dave loving the baby goats.
The baby goats were a big hit.
Giant bunny!
Finally, I took Dave to the demolition derby on Saturday. He had a blast! We were only able to stay for one heat (started a bit late), but he is definitely excited to go again next year.
Dave and I in the grandstands.

Zoo Time
When my mom and Justin (my step-brother) were up over the 4th, we went to the zoo and took advantage of their long hours for members on Wednesday nights. It was really nice to walk around when it was a little shadier and less crowded!
Gamma and Ike hanging while Dave groomed the goats.
Dave really loved this huge skeleton.
Dave said, "We're gonna go on an adventure Mom!".
Dave and Ike checking out the orangutan. It was right next to the window!
Justin and Ike waiting for the carousel to be over.
Dave and I got to ride the carousel thanks to a token donation from some strangers!
Posing on the giant turtle.
Ike was really channeling the statue.
Dave's favorite part of the zoo...dancing in the misters.
Love the zoo and can't wait to go back! It's such a perfect trip for a half-day. And as a bonus, the kids really do seem to have fun.

Happy 4th of July (and Ike's 9 Months Old)!
Ike celebrated his monthly birthday in style this month...lots of family and some fireworks! I got his photo session in early before he got all tuckered out.
Big boy in the rocking chair.
He promptly fell on his tush just after this picture.
Ike hasn't started much new in the past month, but he sure has gotten faster at a lot of things. He climbs around on things more and is pulling himself up more often, along with crawling all over the place. He has started nursing less, probably gearing up to wean here in the next couple of months. Ike just began throwing things (balls for the most part) in the past week, and I think he may understand who Josh and I are (he definitely recognizes all of his grandparents but doesn't associate any names yet). I can't believe he is 3/4 done with his first year! My baby is growing up too fast!!
I find him like this after most of his naps.
Well that's it for Ike's update, on to 4th of July fun! My mom is in town visiting with my step-brother Justin for the past week. They decided to go out to a movie (what's more American than zombies?) while we went to hang out with the Bowyer-Sievers clan at Josh's parents house.
Dave teaching Barry how to golf. He's an excellent coach...
He picked up blades of grass to make himself like Wolverine.
Ike with grandpa Dave and Natalya.
Dave isn't old enough yet to stay up as late as the fireworks (they don't start until 10 around here!), so we had a little sparkler fun before bedtime.
Mesmerized.
