Stormy Days

We have had some crazy storms this past week.  It will be sunny one minute and pouring the next.  We have still been able to play outside quite a bit, but the storms have kept us in on several afternoons.

Here's an example of the awesome clouds.

I took that picture on our way to hang out at the library last week.  My neighbor Stacey and I took the kids to play and work on the computers.  Dave really loves using the computers there and is getting really good at some of the activities.

Pretty much every afternoon we have been holding reading time in the front room.  Usually I read one book, and then Dave chooses one to read.

He almost always chooses the same book...

Ike thought he could get away with snacking on a tiny chicken.

Why won't it stop raining!?  Here's a video of Ike trying to whistle.

There are some silver linings to all of this rain...it created a huge water pool in front of one of the houses in our neighborhood.

Dave really enjoyed some redneck swimming!

Dave has been very helpful lately with getting chores done around the house.  He puts away his laundry (both clean and dirty) and his newest duty is helping unload the dishwasher.  I guess it must be fun, because he made up a song about it.  Dave's silverware song.
