Black Hills-Wildlife

Dave eating Oreos in the Badlands KOA.

We left the Badlands this morning bright and early and headed off to the Black Hills-specifically Hill City. Our cabin is situated between Keystone (Mt. Rushmore) and Custer (Crazy Horse). This KOA is definitely more populated than the last one, but it has a lot more amenities (minus air conditioning).

On our way down to where we are staying, we stopped at a place called Reptile Gardens. It was way more awesome than I expected.

Turtle exhibit in Reptile Gardens. Dave obviously really likes turtles, and there was one little baby one biting at the huge turtles' ankles. Hilarious.

After we checked into our cabin, we took a drive on Needles Highway, Wildlife Loop Road, and Iron Mountain Road. It's all one big loop that leads back to Mount Rushmore.

Burros poking their heads through our window!

Dave and I with the burros.

One of the buffalo we saw along our drive. The herd probably totaled around 100, but this guy was being a loner over by the campers.
