Visit from Gamma

Well, still no baby!  I was definitely hoping to be a family of four by now, but I guess baby has other ideas.  And it's all wishful thinking anyway, I'm not due for another week.

My mom came up to hang out with Dave so I could get some stuff done around the house before baby gets here.  It worked out really well-we were on duty this weekend, but had an extra staff, so I was able to get lots of stuff done while Dave had a blast with Gamma.

Still representing the Colts!

Mom and Dave went to Campbell's Pumpkin Patch again and came home with a pumpkin to carve.  Dave was pretty grossed out with the guts, but very much enjoyed working on the face with the carving tools.

A little skeptical of the innards.

I'm sure he was saying something about how gross it looked.

Finished product!  Dave is very proud of his pumpkin and it sits happily on our front porch.

Also, this past weekend Sophie turned 3!  We didn't make it down to the party, but her mom sent out a picture of the birthday girl in her finest.

Isn't she precious!

Well, that about sums up our past week.  Just waiting on baby to get here-maybe the full moon this weekend will bring on the labor :)

Oh, and a few updates on Dave (just in case I forget at a later date)-Josh and Dave have been listening to "concerts" on youtube this past week.  It's so funny because Dave just wants to hear the same songs over and over (a wide variety of music including, but not limited to:  Joe Diffie, Beck, Relient K, and Carly Rae Jepsen).  Josh keeps trying to get him to branch out, but it doesn't work very well.

He has also taken to looking at himself in the mirror and exclaiming, "Hey mom, I look handsome!".  Thankfully, he also compliments other people on their nice shirts and shoes, so I'm hoping he's not becoming too self-centered!

Sand Pit and Pumpkin Patch

I know I've written about Dave's sand pit at the back of our house before, but he loves it so much that I feel the need to keep taking cute pictures of him while he's playing.

Looks like I caught him up to no good.

He actually listened to direction and said cheese!  Maybe there is hope after all  :)

Dave and some of the guys went crazy and turned the sand pit into a muddy mess.  I don't think Dave minded.

As baby #2's birthday rapidly approaches (2 weeks from the due date!), we are trying to do some last things with Dave being the only child.  One thing we crossed off our list was visiting the pumpkin patch-which Dave has been talking about since winter ended.

Laughing at the pygmy goats.

Hiding from Josh in the hay maze.

Dave and I (and baby at 38 weeks).  Looks like I have one of those pumpkins stuffed up my shirt!  Really looking forward to the baby being outside of my stomach.

Fun at the Park

Last Monday Josh's mom and I took the kids to Matter Park in Marion.  They had a blast, and completely wore us out!  It was awesome for me because Josh had gone to visit his buddy (Dave) in Cincinnati one last time before the baby arrives, so I had help entertaining our Dave.

Caleb went crazy at the park.  We could barely keep up.

Dave taking a shower.

Sophie looks really intense-must've had her eye on a slide to go down.

Only picture of all three kids.  No one looks particularly happy.

Swing time!

Playing on the rocking boat thing.  I have no idea what it actually is, but the kids like it.

Dave taking a break because he was really tired.

I guess I took too many pictures of him, he's telling me to cut it out.

Update on Dave

I haven't been doing a good job of updating Dave's latest likes/dislikes, so I thought I'd do that in this week's post.  As he approaches 3, he is definitely becoming more headstrong, but it easier to reason with most of the time.  We started having him take naps again in hopes of improving his nighttime sleep.  So far we have had mixed results and bedtime has taken a nosedive once again.  But, we're trying something new (again) and it seems to be helping.

He loves playing outside and in his toy room-especially any sport.  For now he is right-handed for most things, but continues to swing bats and golf clubs left-handed.  We are getting ready to switch his car seat around (this feels like a huge milestone for me), in preparation for the new baby.  His favorite foods are:  oatmeal, cocoa cereal (really healthy!), grapes, cinnamon gum (which he gets everyday from papa Boo), mac and cheese, and green beans.

Okay, I think that sums up some of the stuff he's been up to lately, here are a couple of pictures from last week.

Playing basketball in his toy room.

Slam Dunk!

Here are two videos I took the other day. Singing his two favorite songsReading Little Blue Truck.

This is from last week when we went to visit Josh's grandparents.

Love this pose.

Baby Bowyer 2 Nursery

We have just finished putting the finishing touches on baby 2's nursery.  It's not super exciting, especially since we can't paint, but I like how it turned out.  We used Sandra Boynton books as inspiration, and did most of it ourselves because I couldn't find anything from the books to use as decoration.  Josh's mom helped me get a good layout for the room (it's a really big space, and we didn't have much to put in it!).

One side of the room.  I made the curtains out of a sheet from Walmart-super easy and cheap!

Other side.  The bookshelves are Ikea spice racks that I spray painted then hung on the walls.

The prints above the bookshelves are just pictures I took from various Boynton books and then printed out and framed.  This idea was courtesy of my mom.

Close up of one of the prints that Kyra had her friend paint for the baby.  A scene from Moo, Baa, La La La.

Matching print from the same book.  Sue did a great job!

I am currently having them framed, but didn't want to wait to post about the room.

Dave loves getting in his old stuff.  I don't think he fits in the bassinet anymore!

I had to include a couple pictures from our week.  We didn't really do a lot (we worked the whole thing), so here is Dave playing with chalk outside.

And one afternoon while I was doing laundry (which is through that brown door), Dave grabbed my camera and took some self portraits of his feet.

He has seriously bad fred flintstone feet.
